Officially official

Friday I declared my residency in Colorado.  In other words, I got my CO license and registered to vote.  Having finally received some income from the state, I decided it was time.  So I have officially "surrendered" my Mississippi license.  The next step will be my car tag and insurance, which will both be due in July.  I hope the car tags are cheaper here than in Hinds County, Mississippi.  I could have almost paid the jeep off by now for what I paid for my car tag in two years in Hinds County.

The DMV was of course an interesting experience.  All walks of life, literally, given that one woman had a baby rabbit in there at one point.  K and I both took care of our stuff and were out in a less than three hours.  Not bad for a DMV trip and truthfully the people were polite and moved folks right along in as best way as possible.

Friday evening, on a whim and having not yet returned home, we decided to head to the Bluebird Theater and catch Dirty Dozen Brass Band, with Frogs Gone Fishing.  We stopped by Goosetown Tavern before heading over and the bar tender remembered us from about a month ago, which was a nice feeling given we've only been in there a handful of times.  Also, K had met a guy who does security at the Bluebird one of the last times we were there who just happened to be from Meridian, MS (I think, definitely somewhere in MS) and he spoke like old pals.

The music was great and felt like we were in warm, humid New Orleans and not chilly Denver!  I've got some good pictures and will upload them later today, hopefully.

Yesterday morning was so beautiful.  We ended up going to Red Rocks to run the bleachers of the amphitheater, which equals a 5k.  Took the top off the jeep for the first time this season, well at least the driver's side flap.  We had the doggies with us because we were stopping at the dog park over that way after a workout.  Everyone enjoyed themselves and had a great workout.

Just as we were about to relax at home, a friend invited us over for grilled chicken and hotdogs and so we topped off the day with a relaxing BBQ with a few friends.

K is working today and I am going to catch up with my Southern Living and Sunset (west version of SL) and enjoy the 70 degree weather before we go back to chances of snow on Wednesday.  We did wake up to snow on the cars just last Thursday.  May in Colorado is definitely a tease for warm weather.  I guess in reality it is more of an actual Spring than what we have in MS.  We basically just jump of cold and rainy to 85-90 degree weather in a matter of a week there.
