Irie Man

We celebrated Bob Marley's birthday at Herman's Hideaway. Lots of dreds, incense, and good jams made for an Irie evening!  You might be surprised to see the diversity at a Bob Marley celebration...I mean who doesn't like Reggae.  Looking forward to Reggae on the Rocks for sure.

Hike @ Evergreen Mountain Park, Saturday, February 6

Went for our second hike in Evergreen a couple weeks ago and we both
agreed we liked it a little more than the Apex Trail. It was in the
middle of dense evergreens and mostly snow covered (not icey!). We
didn't see any wildlife but did see lots of tracks. There were signs
warning of mountain lions and bears and it was definitely the type of
habitat one would expect to see them. The trail was a gradual climb,
through the pines with lots of granite boulders and such. I think it
was a little over 4 miles total.

I am 30 years old

K and I spent the day and night in Keystone for my birthday this
year...similar to last year's birthday; however, this time I sat out
on the snowboarding. We had planned to go to Hot Sulpher Springs, but
a storm moved in on Sunday and sitting out in the hot springs in 5
degree temperatures was just not something I was quite ready to
experience! On a whim we called and got a rate quote from a place
right across the street from Keystone properties and got a great deal
for a room. K also got a good deal on a day pass at A-Basin, so we
loaded up Dix (to keep me company while K rode) and headed to the
mountains. It was a beautiful drive up as the Foothills had gotten at
least 3-4 inches and it was still steadily snowing as we climbed.
However, the snow slacked off the closer we got to Dillon and the
skies cleared...the mountains weren't getting near the snow that we
were but it was still a great day to go. Since it was a Monday, K
pretty much had the mountain to himself and got in some good riding.
Though it was around 11 degrees, I wasn't even cold; amazing, I know
and Dix of course LOVED it! After catching happy hour at Dos Locos
and a soak in the hot tub we headed to The Goat. We did not make
specific plans to repeat last year's birthday, but in February the
Mountains are the best place to be and being a local, I guess makes it
pretty feasible. Here's to a new year and new decade! Good riddance
Twenties.
